THIS IS NOT ISLAM

Amultes and all those stuff which are taken as lucky charms by the Muslims are considered as Shirk [making partners with Allah].

It was narrated from ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Aamir al-Juhani that a group of people came to the Messenger of Allaah (pbuh), and he accepted the allegiance of nine and refrained from accepting the allegiance of one. They said: “O Messenger of Allaah, you accepted the allegiance of nine and not this one.” He said: “He is wearing an amulet.” He put his hand in and took it off, then he accepted his allegiance, and said: “Whoever uses an amulet has committed shirk (has associated partners with Allaah).” Narrated by Ahmad, 16969. This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 492.

Another Hadith;

It was narrated that Uqbah ibn Aamir said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) say: “Whoever wears an amulet, may Allah not fulfil his need, and whoever wears a sea-shell, may Allah not give him peace.” Masnud Ahmad, 16951. This hadeeth was classed as da’eef by Shaykh al-Albaani in Da’eef al-Jaami’, 5703

and yes The Scholars are of the opinion that the Amullets which contain the Ayah of Quran will be counted as Bidah [innovation in religion] And our beloved prophet Mohammad pbuh said any Every innovation will be rejected.[Sahih al-Bukhari (Volume: 3, Number: 861)] These are no where part of Islam.

THE WAY OF SUNNAH:

• It was narrated from Zaynab the wife of Abdullah ibn Masood from Abdullah that he said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) say, ‘Spells (ruqyah), amulets and love-charms are shirk.” I said, “Why do you say this? By Allah, my eye was weeping with a discharge and I kept going to So and so, the Jew, who did a spell for me. When he did the spell, it calmed down.” ‘Abd-Allah said: “That was just the work of the Shaytaan who was picking it with his hand, and when (the Jew) uttered the spell, he stopped. All you needed to do was to say as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say:

‘أذهب البأس رب الناس اشف أنت الشافي لا شفاء إلا شفاؤك شفاء لا يغادر سقما

(Remove the harm, O Lord of mankind, and heal, You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing, a healing which leaves no disease behind.’”
Sunnan Abu Dawood, 3883; Also by Sunnan Ibn Maajah, 3530. This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilat al-Saheehah, 331 and 2972.

• Narrated ‘Aisha: The Prophet ordered me or somebody else to do Ruqya (if there was danger) from an evil eye. (Bukhari)

Narrated Um Salama: That the Prophet saw in her house a girl whose face had a black spot. He said. “She is under the effect of an evil eye; so treat her with a Ruqya.” (Bukhari)

• Suratal Fatihah

• Ayatul Kursi

• Al mu’aawidhataan (the two surahs of refuge: suratal Falaq and suratan Naas)

• Ad’eeyah (supplications), specifically the following

• A’uthu bi kalimaat illahit taamah min sharri ma khalaq (Muslim)

• A’uthu bi kalimaat illahit taamah min kulli shaytaani wa hammah, wa min kulli ‘aynin laamah. (Al Bukhari)

Narrated 'Aisha (RA):

Whenever the Prophet (SAW) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 61, Number 536

Amulets (تميمه - tameemah, pl. تمائم - tamaa’im) are things made from pearls or bones that are worn on the necks of children or adults, or are hung up in houses or cars, in order to ward off evil – especially the evil eye – or to bring some benefits. Saleh Al-Munajjid.

Ibn al-Athir said: “التمائم جمع تميمه: وهى خرزات كانت العرب تعلَقا على أولادهم يتقون بها العين في زعهم” – تمائم - tamaa’im plural of تميمه - tameemah meaning that those Amulet that Arab use to put on their Children to protect them from evil eye. Al-Nihaya, al-ibn al-Atheer.

It includes all those amulets, threads, rings, sticks etc that ignorant people wear to cure their ills. These include amulets with inscription of Kufr and Shirk and non-Sharii writings on it.

May we fear Allah swt and protect his Hadood, Because he is our only protector. Aamin!
